David J. Skinner has been named Regional Sales Director at Purchasing Power, LLC, one of the fastest-growing e-commerce voluntary benefit companies offering a leading employee purchase program through the convenience of payroll deductions. Skinner is based in Indianapolis and assumes sales responsibilities covering the U.S. Great Lakes territory. He will report directly to Christy DeFrain, vice president, sales for Purchasing Power.
In his new role, Skinner is responsible for strategic sales efforts directed toward benefit brokers and the targeted employer clients they represent. He is charged with building new broker segments to generate lasting business relationships representing the Purchasing Power program and its financial flexibility advantages for employees. Skinner’s sales activity will be targeted to Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

Prior to joining Purchasing Power, Skinner served six years as a Principal Sales Professional at Mercer, the world’s largest human resources consulting firm, working in their Indiana Health Practice. There he worked both with Indiana employers to provide solutions to HR/benefits challenges, and with product/service vendors to create and negotiate unique benefit programs. Skinner also worked for 13 years at IHC Health Solutions as vice president, sales and marketing dental and vision, where he managed national sales territories recruiting wholesale and retail insurance agencies to market group dental and vision programs. He previously served as a director of marketing and then vice president, sales and marketing at GroupLink Inc., which was acquired by The IHC Group and later changed names to IHC Health Solutions.
Skinner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Administration and Counseling Psychology from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Additionally, he earned a Registered Health Underwriter designation from the American College and holds an Indiana Life and Health Insurance License. A published writer for several insurance industry trade publications, Skinner also serves as Board Member and Secretary of the Indiana State Association of Health Underwriters Political Action Committee and is involved with the Indiana Chapter of the Folds of Honor Foundation and Junior Achievement of Central Indiana.
