Customer Sweepstakes Program to Benefit Junior Achievement USA

Purchasing Power®, the leading employee purchase program offering consumer products and services as a voluntary benefit at the workplace, is taking to the road in June for its first-ever Fueling Financial Wellness @Work bus tour.

Launching May 31 in Atlanta, the roadshow will target eight key cities in the Eastern United States to stress the importance of employee financial education and empowerment at the workplace. In addition to spotlighting its robust platform of free financial tools and services for registered participants, Purchasing Power will present personal finance seminars from author and financial wellness expert Alok Deshpande of SmartPath Financial Education. Further details and a growing gallery of images from the tour can be found at Roadshow.PurchasingPower.com.

"At Purchasing Power, we want to help our clients' employees get on the path to financial wellness at their workplace," says Richard Carrano, CEO of Purchasing Power. "Employees who are financially stressed are distracted by their finances at work and are less productive. By reinforcing the financial benefits and tools we've made available to them free of charge through their employer, we can help alleviate that stress."

Throughout the month of June, the 45-foot custom-wrapped Fueling Financial Wellness @Work executive coach will make scheduled stops in Charlotte, NC; Washington, DC; Harrisburg, PA; Minneapolis; Cincinnati; Louisville, KY; Nashville; and New Orleans. The visits will be a combination of drive-through appointments and community festivals; client headquarter visits; employee personal finance seminars by Deshpande; and an appearance at the SHRM annual conference in New Orleans. Overall, the route will cover nearly 4,500 miles across 17 states.

In addition to its employee purchase program, which provides a financially responsible way to buy a host of brand-name consumer products and services, Purchasing Power introduced a comprehensive online financial wellness platform in 2016. The platform is a collection of free tools and services designed to provide practical support in managing personal finances, improving credit scores, creating a living budget and planning realistic goals for the future.

As the founder of SmartPath, personal finance expert Deshpande reaches thousands of individuals every year through financial wellness programs at companies and graduate schools. He also recently published the straight-forward, simple to read instructional book, Fuel: The Most Important Number in Your Financial Life.

"My work is focused on bringing people from chaos to confidence with their finances," says Deshpande. "Partnering with Purchasing Power to bring these tools and resources to even more people this summer is an exciting opportunity to help people kick-start their journey toward a better financial life."

Purchasing Power is also sponsoring the Financial Wellness @Work Sweepstakes to encourage participation with the financial wellness program. For every entry, Purchasing Power will make a financial contribution to Junior Achievement™, the award-winning, nationally recognized non-profit organization created to prepare today's youth for tomorrow's economy. Purchasing Power has been a longtime supporter of Junior Achievement, whose learning models are focused on career readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Prizing for the sweepstakes includes a seven-day Caribbean cruise for two, an Apple MacBook Pro, a Sony 55" television and a $500 designer shopping spree at PurchasingPower.com.
