Purchasing Power, a leading voluntary benefit company, moved its headquarters from 695 Pylant Street in Virginia Highlands to Pershing Point Plaza, located at 1375 Peachtree Street, at the corner of Peachtree and 17th street. The company increased its space by a third, leasing 36,989 square feet in Pershing Point. The move is a result of incredible growth – the company doubled its workforce in the past three years and increased revenue by 42 percent from 2008 to 2009.
Purchasing Power employs more than 125 employees at two locations in Midtown and will consolidate all of its employees back into a single location within the next eight months. The employees from the Pylant Street corporate headquarters location began work in the new space on Sept. 27. Purchasing Power’s finance and accounting departments, currently located in the Midtown Heights building at 1350 Spring Street, will follow in January 2011.
Purchasing Power’s customer service and order processing departments will bring the space to full occupancy by moving in May 2011. In preparation for the move, Purchasing Power renovated the space, adding new paint and carpet throughout and built new offices, meeting rooms and a new reception area. The new office will allow space for future employee hires. Purchasing Power previously leased 24,000 square feet in total. “The new space will us allow us room to grow as our program continues to become more and more popular,” said Richard Carrano, Purchasing Power president. “This move is important as we celebrate our 10th anniversary in 2011 and look forward to better serving our customers. Barbara Jeanneret of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the lessor and Ed Bosbyshell of Ed Bosbyshell & Associates represented Purchasing Power in the lease transaction. Other Pershing Point Plaza tenants include Earthlink and Think Interactive, Inc.
